I live in Anchorage, Alaska, happily retired, and fill the long dark winter days working on genealogy. (OK, sometimes I work on genealogy during the very long summer days too.)
During the late 1970s through the early 1990s my mother and her sister did vigorous genealogy work -- writing people, joining genealogy groups, visiting graveyards, churches, and courthouses, visiting newly found relatives -- collecting documentation. I inherited 6 boxes of files, the information which I have entered in WikiTree, with the supplemental help from Ancestry.com and Find A Grave (and yes, sometimes I have found that all three sources have been a little off). I only wish that my mother and my aunt were here today to see what I have discovered, and meet all the new cousins I have found and talked to.
Acting as proxy for family and friends: Cynthia Astrup, Muriel Ganopole, Jack Purl, Robin Leonard, Chip Derrick, Georganna Derrick, Pam Miller, and Anita Kudla. It was fun to discover how we are all related....
When not building onto our trees, I enjoy sourcing un-sourced orphans (the ones with my family names, in case one is mine), merging them with another existing profile if I find one, and connecting them to existing profiles of their families if I can find them. Makes the days go by fast.
To aid WikiTree in the administration of my account should I be incapacitated, or in the event of my death, I hereby give permission for all of the private profiles that I am managing to be transferred to Jodi Page (Gordon-9770), whether or not she is currently on the Trusted Lists.

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and respond to let us know that you are content with your current team or if you would like to be more involved.
The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.
There are currently three different Biography Teams - The Biography Team, the Abandoned Team, and the Popular Team.
You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team. The Biography Team works on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them.
Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.
If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.
We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.
Sincerely,
Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project
Robin Shaules, Project Coordinator, Profile Improvement Project
Thank you all for keeping the drums beating!!
- You can see new tabs at the top of our home page, where you can select topics to view or work on. You can also use our new maintenance categories - feel free to add them to your own family, or any other Jewish Roots profile, or work on the maintenance yourself, such as adding new records to profiles with only a couple sources.-I'm sending an invitation to join GoogleGroups, which we are re-starting this week. We'll probably do most group chat there, but the most important things will be posted on G2G, which you will be notified about if you follow the jewish_roots tag.
-You can also join Wikitree's discord server, where we have a Jewish Roots chat channel.
-If you have ideas or suggestions for the project, feel free to reply here or send me a message.
Thank you! -Elaine, co-leader for Jewish Roots Project
