Obituary from The Antlers American, 05/17/1962, Thursday, Page 6 - Grave side services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Rufe for James Blair Gamble, 71- year-old resident of McCurtain County, who died of a heart attack Friday, May 11. Gamble was born May 10, 1891, at Cedar Glades, Arkansas, the son of Martha and William Gamble. On June 23, 1912, he married Miss Effie Daniels at Blufton, Arkansas, and in 1913 the couple moved to McCurtain County where they have resided ever since. He had been a member of the Baptist Church for the past 15 years. He is survived by the wife, Effie, of the home, six daughters, Mrs. Bill Mayfied, Rufe; Mrs. Irene Bowen, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Marie Eudy, Roswell, N.M., Mrs. Mary Scott, Wright City, Mrs. Oleta Tuck, San Angelo, Texas, and Mrs. Glenda Dean, Oklahoma City. Also, four sons, James W., Henry E., both of Idabel; Calvin F. Abilene; and William T. of Strasburg, Colorado. Also surviving are four sisters, a brother, 31 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Bearers were: John Foster, G.V. Fuller, Lester Provence, Kellem Mitchell, Harold Finnel and Dave Cunningham.

Buried in Rufe Cemetery, Rufe, McCurtain County, Oklahoma.
