Biography
Domenica Gagliano is born 8 April 1906 in Manhattan, daughter of Angelo Gagliano, age 28 (b. 1877-8), born in Italy, and Carmela Parisi Gagliano, 22 (b. 1883-4), also born in Italy.[1]
Domenica marries Vincenzo Rao, son of Antonino Rao and Liboria Colletti, on 8 August 1922 in New York City.[2] Like her father, Domenica's new husband was also born in Corleone, Sicily. Vincenzo and Domenica are first cousins.
Vincenzo's brother, Calogero Rao, is a powerful Mafia figure in New York from the 1910-50s. Calogero also married a first cousin from Corleone.
Vincenzo remarries on 21 April 1924 to to Carmelina Alberti. This record calls him single, not divorced or widowered.[3]
