Gertrude (Freeman) Kelley is a part of US Black heritage.
Gertrude Freeman was born in October 1863 in Vermont. She was the daughter of Rachel Williams and Civil War veteran Aaron Freeman of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. Her Uncle George married into a family of Underground Railroad operatives.
Education
In 1880, she is attending school, probably in or near Burlington, Vermont.[1]
