Biography

Macajah was the son of John Francis and Mary Bostick.

He marred Karenhappuch.

"On the motion of John Smith who made Oath according to law, certificate of obtaining Letters of Administration of the estate of Micajah Francis deceased is granted him (Keronhappock the widow by letter under her hand properly proved to the Court having relinquished her right of administration) and the said John Smith entered into Bond with Isaac Read his security $ acknowleged the same according to law."[1]

He served in the Revolution.[2]

Micajah (1763) married his cousin Elizabeth in 1789 and they had seven children; Diana (1798) Lucy (1804) Polly (1806) Nancy (1808) Milton (1812) Coleman (1814) and Elizabeth (1820). This is evidenced by the 1832 Will found in the North Carolina Probate Records - Estate Papers (Stokes County, North Carolina), 1775-1971; Author: North Carolina. Division of Archives and History; Probate Place: Stokes, North Carolina.

There were at least FOUR Micajah Francis' - 1.Micajah (1728) (*Coleman's Grandfather) was born in Halifax, VA. He had a son with Karenhoppuch, who they named Micajah (b.1763). 2. Micajah (1763), brothers were Vincent (b. 1751) and *Malecki (b. 1764).

  • Malecki (1764) married Mary Fischer and they had a son who they also named **Micajah (07 Aug 1797), born in Halifax, VA.

3. **Micajah (1797) married Nancy Bridges. They had a son they named ***Micajah Wilson Francis (1818-1870) He passed away in Indiana.

4. ***Micajah (1818-1870) Passed away in Indiana.

Thought: The info re John Smith, needs to be clarified, because it oddly reads like Karenhappuch remarried and in those days ... signed her property over to her husband.
