Research Notes

The motion for John smith: did Karenhappcuch remarry John smith and sign her property from her first marriage over to John??

LNAB...why is it Armistead? On FAG she is not referred to as Armistead. To all who may be interested--Karenhoppuck is the only name associated with this individual in all existing records that have been located to date. This woman was named after one of Job's daughters in the Old Testament. Currently, her maiden name is unknown-even after extensive research. In none of the documents related to this woman is the name Annabelle found and indeed, it was not a popular name in useage when she was born. All the tax records, court records and one letter associated with her simply refer to her as Karenhoppuck.

Keren-happuch (Hebrew: ????? ?????????, Hebrew pronunciation: ['qeren hap'pux], "Horn of kohl") was the youngest of the three beautiful daughters of Job, named in the Bible as given to him in the later part of his life, after God made Job prosperous again. Keren-happuch's older sisters are named as Jemima and Keziah (Job 42:14). Job's sons, in contrast, are not named. Keren-happuch, along with her sisters, was described as more beautiful than all the other women in the land. Also, unusually and in common with her sisters, Keren-happuch was granted an inheritance by her father, with her brothers as might have been expected (Job 42-15). Apart from these brief references at the end of the Book of Job, she is not mentioned elsewhere in the Bible. Job 42:14: "And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the t"ird, Kerenhappuch".
