Biography
Marie Desmerises was born 10 Apr 1853 and was baptized the same day in L'Islet-sur-Mer. She was the daughter of Joseph Fortin and Marie Anastasie Bélanger. Godparents were Jean Baptiste Fortin and Délima Caron who both sign the register. [1]
On 3 Feb 1874, in L'Islet, Auguste Bélanger adult son of Bénoni Bélanger and Marie Clarisse Caron married Marie Desmerises Fortin minor daughter of Joseph Fortin and the late Marie Anastasie Bélanger. Witnesses included both fathers. The bride and groom sign the register along with the groom's brother, Joseph Bélanger. [2]
Demrise Fortin, 37 year old wife of Auguste Belanger, died 3 Jun 1890. She was buried 6 Jun 1890 in L'Islet-sur-Mer cemetery. [3]
