Biography
Bénoni Auguste was born 25 Apr 1849 and was baptized the same day in L'Islet. He was the son of François Bénoni Bélanger and Marie Clariste Caron. Godparents were Jean Moreau and Flavie Bélanger who both sign the register. [1]
On 3 Feb 1874, in L'Islet, Auguste Bélanger adult son of Bénoni Bélanger and Marie Clarisse Caron married Marie Desmerises Fortin minor daughter of Joseph Fortin and the late Marie Anastasie Bélanger. Witnesses included both fathers. The bride and groom sign the register along with the groom's brother, Joseph Bélanger. [2]
Auguste Belanger, 74 year old widower of Démerise Fortin, died 3 Sep 1927. He was buried 6 Sep 1927 in L'Islet-sur-Mer cemetery. Two of his sons, Joseph and Fernando, were present and sign the register along with others including his son in law, Maxime Lemieux, and Maxime's sons. [3]

- On 1 Sep 1896, in L'Islet, Joseph Maximillien Lemieux adult son of the late Cyrille Lemieux and Hortense Bernier married Marie Anne Léda Bélanger minor daughter of Auguste Belanger, mayor of this parish, and the late Démérise Fortin. Witnesses included the bride's father, both the bride and groom sign the register along with several witnesses. [4]
