Confirmed cousins* Maternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on 23andMe who share a 11 cM segment on chromosome 4, consisting of John Floyd and Terrie Whittaker, his 3rd cousin 1x removed, and Mary (Billingsley) Whitaker, half his 2x great grandaunt. (Terrie and Mary are her 3x great grandnibling.) Their most-recent common ancestor is Mary Billingsley, the 2x great grandmother of John Floyd, 3x great grandmother of Terrie Whittaker and child's mother of Mary (Billingsley) Whitaker.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Dear John,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.

We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1, working on profiles from your own watchlist, from projects in which you are involved, and whatever else you find. Biography Teams Levels 2 and 3 will work on designated profiles for notables (Level 3) and everyday people (Level 2). Please let us know if you would like to help with a higher-level Bio Team or one of the other Teams.

You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018. We would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you would like to work at a higher level on the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile from your own watchlist that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.

We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. If you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

Floyd, I've been going through my sources and Justinian Justice Jr. is the son of Justinian Justice Sr., not John Justice Sr. Charles City Orders 1737-51 p. 491 February Court 1749 reads: A deed from Justinian Justis Senr. to his son Justinian Justis Junr was by6 the sd Justinian Justice senr. acknowledged to his sd son as his act and deed & Priscilla his wife being first privetely examined relinquisheth her right of dower in & to the land in ye sd deed mentioned all which ordered to be recorded.

This shows that Justinian Sr transfered property to his second son as he did earliar to his son John at the latter's age twenty one. Justinian Jr. also transfers land to his oldest son John as follows: Charles City Orders 1737-51 p. 176, September Court Justinian Justis in open court acknowledges a deed of gift to his son John Justis as his act and deed & thereupon ordered to be recorded. There is another John Justis Jr who is the son of John Justice Sr, brother of Justinian Justice Sr. but he did not have a son Justinian Justis. I can e-mail you copies of the court docummments if you need them as sources. I'm not sure how to add them so they are visible to anyone. I want to have the most accurate for each family. I just wish that the siblings of each family didn't name their kids after eachother.

Hello John, William Justice is my 8th great-grandfather. I would like to connect that end of my family to what I have just entered. I'm up to Allen Justice and have only four more generations to add to complete most of my tree. I descend from William Justice & Mary Freame, Justinian Sr., Justinian Jr., John and then Allen.
