Charlie Flint served in the Spanish-American War. There is a photograph and a letter written by Charlie to his mother Jenine [or Jennie] E. Flint dated July 29, '98. This was less than a month before the end of the conflict. At the time, Charlie was "In camp, outside Santiago" (presumably Puerto Rico).[2]
