Born in Denver, Colorado on 14 December 1939 to Precia D. Flanders and Robert C. Flanders. As my father was a career officer with the U. S. Air Force, I grew up in locals from West Palm Beach, Florida to Anchorage, Alaska and many, many points between. I graduated from William H. Burges High School, El Paso, TX in 1959, attended Texas A & M University for a year, and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1967 with a B. A. in International Studies.

My assignments with the Army included The Army Ammunition and Supply Agency, Joliet, IL; Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma AZ; and OCHAMP

Biography
Robert Bruce Flanders was born in Denver, Colorado on 14 December 1939 to Precia Obra Badonna (Hill) Flanders and Robert Chester Flanders. As my father was a career officer with the U. S. Air Force, I grew up in locals from West Palm Beach, Florida to Anchorage, Alaska, and many, many points between. I graduated from William H. Burges High School, El Paso, TX in 1959, attended Texas A & M University for a year then graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1967 with a B. A. in International Studies. I married Carla Joyce King in December 1967. We had two sons, Robert Brian Flanders and Kevin Drew Flanders. I began my 35-year career with DoD in an Army Intern Program as a computer programmer. My assignments with the Army included The Army Ammunition and Supply Agency, Joliet, IL; Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma AZ; and OCHAMPUS, Fitzsimmons Hospital, Aurora Colorado. I transferred to the Department of the Air Force in 1972 to the Air Reserve Personnel Center, Denver CO; then to The Central Civilian Personnel Office at Shaw AFB, SC. I married Sue Ellen (Moses) Sterling in 1976 and transferred to the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph AFB, TX. I married Ramona Lawson in February 1980 in San Antonio, TX, and transferred to the Air Force Security Assistance Training Squadron in February of 1981. I completed my Master's Degree in Management and Information Resources Management in December 1990. I was selected for the Defense Security Assistance Management System project and worked as a software developer in Falls Church, VA from June 1996 to July 1997. I joined the Defense Security Assistance Development Center, Mechanicsburg, PA when the organization was formed in October 1997. I received my final promotion to GS-14 in June 1998 and retired from DSADC and the government on 1 June 2002. I am now happily retired in San Antonio, Texas.
