John married two more times, first to Mary Lovell, date unknown,[4] and secondly to Phebe Lovell on 11 November 1724 in Barnstable.[5] Phebe was the daughter of John and Jane (Hatch) Lovell, and the widow of Thomas Bumpas. After John's death in 1730, Phebe married Joseph Bearse in 1732, son of Austin Bearse.[6][4]
John died in Sandwich on 08 March 1729/30, aged 76 years.[7]
Children by wife Margaret born Sandwich:
John, b. 19 Sep 1679, d. bef. 1741; mar. Mehitable ____.
Josiah, b. 13 Feb 1681, d. abt. Jan 1710.

Research notes
Torrey suggests that his first wife, Margaret, may have married Samuel Cleaveland,[8] although this seems unlikely as the Cleaveland marriage was said to have occurred in 1699, and it is clear that John died in 1730.
