Jan,

Thank you for the information regarding the "Other" Coker Family of Arkansas. William "Buck" Coker was my 5th Great Grandfather, with my line passing through Joseph W. Coker and Cynthia Rogers. I find my new hobby of Genealogy very interesting and addictive! I am always happy to discover that my findings are corroborated! If I can share anything, please don't hesitate to ask. Kindest regards, Lorie (Coker) McElhaney

"Is Joel Coker, born about 1840, Eros, Ark.- the son of George Washington Coker and Nancy (King) Coker? If so, he is the brother to my Barnett B. Coker."

Hi Jan! I think that he is! Take a look at this page and tell me what you think. Joel S Coker is my great (x4) grandfather.

Am I the only one thinking there has to be a connection somewhere in there to our McClary & Knox ancestors? Do you think it would be a waste of my time to try to make the connection? (I'll be creating the profiles for this family this weekend if you want to have a look at what I've found.)

Big hugs, Jayme

Hey Cuz! :) Wanted your thoughts on something.

So I've been browsing McClary memorials on Find A Grave and found one family that has me scratching my head a bit. Namely a John McClary, born 1760, who has a daughter (born 1784) with the middle name Hamilton. The mother of this child is Mary Raphield. Well, I did some research and it looks like Mary Raphield's maiden name may have been Hamilton, as she appears on several records as Mary Hamilton. Also, John's son David (born 1802; son of 3rd wife Sarah) married an Agnes Knox...

Hey Jan! Thank you for the well wishes; I do indeed have a lot of names now. haha. It was important to me to keep McClary, so I ditched my middle name and am now Jayme McClary Hart (on paper, anyway).

I saw the photos on Facebook, and thank you SO much for posting them! Any photos my grandfather may have had of his ancestors went to one of my aunts after he passed away, and I am no longer in contact with her. So it's always awesome to see new [to me] photos. :)
