Joseph Samuel S Fields was born 30 Apr 1862 in Taitsville, Ray, Missouri.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] His second middle name appears as Seigel or Sequel.

He was the son of Joseph Fields and Mary Holman.[1][2][4][5][8]

Joseph married Ida Belle Moore 5 Jan 1883 in Caldwell County, Missouri.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Note: Ida used her mother’s maiden name of Gunnell rather than father’s surname Moore.
