1776 Project
Captain Ebenezer Everett served with Suffolk County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

EBENEZER EVERETT,[1] b. at Dedham, 7 Oct 1734 son of Ebenezer and Joanna (Stevens) Everett; d. at Dedham, 1 Oct 1808;[2] m. 1st at Dedham, 16 Dec 1756, ABIGAIL BACON,[3] b. at Dedham, 24 Jul 1738 daughter of William and Abigail (Dean) Bacon;[4] Abigail d. at Dedham, 12 Jun 1789.[5] Ebenezer m. 2nd at Dedham, 5 Feb 1791, ABIGAIL FISHER (widow of Jeremiah Kingsbury), b. 8 Mar 1737 daughter of Eleazer and Mary (Avery) Fisher; Abigail d. at Dedham, 14 Jun 1809.

Capt. Ebenezer Everett resided in Dedham. He and his first wife Abigail Bacon were received into Second Church at Dedham on 2 March 1760. Ebenezer was elected deacon of Second Church on 30 July 1778. He served as town treasurer in 1789. He served in the French and Indian War.[6]

Ebenezer Everett was appointed captain of 7th company of Col. William McIntosh’s 1st Suffolk regiment in May 1776. He served the role of raising and fitting men for army service. He petitioned to resign his position on 21 March 1780 due to ill health and his resignation was accepted 8 July 1780.[7]

In his will written 25 November 1805 (proved 1 November 1808), Ebenezer Everett bequeaths to beloved wife Abigail the personal property she brought to the estate, the use and improvement of a room in the dwelling house, and other specific provisions in accordance with an agreement made between he and his wife. Daughter Abigail Guild receives $500. Daughter Chloe receives $1,000. Son Ebenezer receives the use and improvement of one-half of the estate not otherwise disposed of and after his son’s decease, this half is to be divided among his son’s heirs except son Moses. Grandson Moses son of Ebenezer receives the other half of the estate. Brother Aaron Everett was named executor.[8]

Ebenezer Everett and Abigail Bacon were parents of five children born at Dedham.

iv EBENEZER EVERETT, b. 12 May 1766; d. at Dedham, 15 Mar 1842; m. 1st at Dedham, 27 Aug 1788, MILLE GAY, b. at Dedham, 20 Jun 1770 daughter of Jesse and Sarah (Gould) Gay;[9] Mille d. at Dedham, 15 Apr 1790. Ebenezer m. 2nd at Dedham, 21 Jul 1792, SARAH MORSE, b. at Dedham, 22 Feb 1772 daughter of Oliver and Sarah (Pittee) Morse; Sarah d. at Dedham, 10 Nov 1828.

v CHLOE EVERETT, baptized 6 May 1781; d. at Dedham (burial at Norfolk), 7 Jan 1820; m. at Dedham by Rev. Jabez Chickering, 21 Nov 1805, JOEL ANDREWS, b. at Dedham, 27 May 1777 son of David and Hannah (Fuller) Andrews; Joel d. at Dedham, of lethargy, 24 Jan 1820. Joel was first married to Vina Morse in 1800.
