Enoch was born in 1878.[1] He was the son of Simon Evans and Betty Lee. He passed away in 1963 and the family applied for and received a headstone based on his military service.[1]

Enoch H. Evans Dies In Hospital
    WARE NECK - A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Union Zion Baptist Church for Enoch H. Evans of Ware Neck, a Negro, who died Thursday at Kecoughtan Veterans Administration Hospital, Hampton.
    The Rev. G. A. Boykins, pastor, will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    A veteran of the Spanish American War, he also served in the merchant marines for many years before his retirement in 1940.
    Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Nash and Miss Mary Evans of Philadelphia and Mrs. Martha Cooper and Miss Grace Evans of Ware Neck; and six brothers, Hezekiah Evans, Scott Evans and Abraham Evans, all of Hampton, Hamilton Evans of Philadelphia, Sherman Evans of Boston and Eugene Evans of Ware Neck.
    The cortege will leave the Howard Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m.[2]
