The son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Eiler, he was born March 21, 1907 in Red Oak and had lived there all his life. He was married in 1926 to Cleo Hunt.
He was a member of the Board of Adjustment for the City of Red Oak and had retired earlier this year [1968] after being employed 42 years as an Intertype operator for the Red Oak Express.
Mr. Eiler was a member and Past Deacon of the First Baptist Church. He was a member of Red Oak Lodge No. 162 AF & AM and also a member of Montgomery County No.57 of Royal Arch Masons, Hiram Council No. 30 [?] of Royal and Select Masters, Bruce Commandery.
Mr. Eiler died this morning [30 Dec 1968] at Murphy Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He had been taken to the hospital at 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the Red Oak Fire Department Rescue Unit.
