On 9 June 1888, about two months before her eightieth birthday, she died of unknown causes in Clio, Wayne County, Iowa.[3] She is buried in the Gatliff Cemetery, Decatur, Iowa.[4]

She was born in Blakes Fork, Wyatts Creek, Knox County, Kentucky. History: The Gatliff family owned land in Morgan Township and the earliest burials were Gatliffs so we assume the cemetery was started on their land. The burials are made on the north half of this land. The nearest town is Lineville.
