Rhonda was born and raised in Indiana. Nicknamed Ronnie by her father, Jim Tucker, who was born in Indiana and her mother, Alice (Hamilton) Tucker who was born in Kentucky, she is stilled called that by her cousins. She was very much a tomboy growing up, climbing trees, playing with bugs, and playing sports. Rhonda attended public school in Indiana graduating 6th in her class.
She moved to Illinois for a job where she met her husband, Mark Zimmerman. She worked in retail management for 18 years before going back to school to get a degree in Elementary Education. After completing her 2nd degree, Rhonda worked at Peoria Public Schools first as, primarily, a science teacher then as a middle school interventionist. She became a volunteer for the Jr. Elite (ELITE K-8, https://eliteyouthoutreach.com/programs) at the school where she taught. Rhonda officially retired from teaching in May 2018, but went back part time as a certified tutor in the fall of 2018. She also joined the Service League of Peoria in the summer of 2018 where she's a volunteer at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

I just saw this post. My great-grandfather was killed in action during the Korean War. I am thankful for your father's service. I have created a Korean War sticker for him, if you're still interested. I have included the dates of his service in the sticker. I tested it, and it worked for me. Just add the same open bracket to the beginning { and the same closed bracket at the end }, so there are two at the beginning and end. If I paste is correctly, the sticker will appear and you my not be able to see the code. Enjoy!
{Korean War|branch=United States Army|startdate=8 Feb 1951|enddate=17 Feb 1954}
The sticker will look like this, with his name:Service started: 8 Feb 1951
Unit(s):
Service ended: 17 Feb 1954
