Ferdinand Broussard Dressel was born on September 13, 1907 in Loreauville, Iberia, Louisiana, United States, son of Joseph Duc Dressel (1868–1933) and Josephine Langley (1873– ).
Ferdinand married Ora Blakeman (born on February 18, 1909 in Morgan City, St. Mary, Louisiana, United States), daughter of Louis Reid Blakeman (1877–1938) and Virginia Clara Ernestine Bonner (1883–1960), 23 October 1936 in Morgan City, Louisiana. [1]Their children were:

On 3 April 1940, Ferdinand Dressel (age 32) and his wife, Ora (age 31), lived with Ora's widowed mother, Mrs. l. R. Blakeman at 514 Second Street in Ward Six, St. Mary, Louisiana, United States. They rented the house for $21/month. Ferdinand had three years of elementary education. He operated his own boat and earned $1,500. Ora had completed four years of high school. She worked as a secretary in a ship yard, and earned $1080. Ora's brother, Gerald Blakeman, (age 19), was in his second year of college. Her brother, Frank Blakeman (age 18) was in his fourth year of high school. Her sister, Ruth Blakeman (age 22), had completed high school. Her sister, Helen (age 14) was in her first year of high school. Ferdinand and Ora were the only household members with income.[2]
Ferdinand Dressel (age 33) and his wife, Ora B. lived at 514 Second Street, Morgan City, St. Mary, Louisiana, when Ferdinand registered for the draft on 16 October 1940. Ferdinand was employed by Texas Oil Co., located in New IBeria, Iberia, Louisiana.[3]
On 4 April 1950, Ferdinand Dressel (age 42), and his wife, Ora B. (age 41), lived in Morgan City, St. Mary, Louisiana, United States. Ferdinand worked sixty hours in that week as a Boat Captain in oil production. Ora worked ten hours as a stationery salewoman. They were the parents of Lloyd Charles Dressel (age 6), and Clifford G. Dressel (age 3).[4]
Ferdinand died (age 82) in 11 June 1990[5] and was buried in Morgan City Cemetery and Mausoleum, Morgan City, St.[6]
