Biography

Property patented by John Finley of Middle River on 15 Otober 1741 was described as being adjacent to land owned by Alexander Breckenridge, whose son, George, married Thankful's sister, Ann Doak, the next year. [1]

August 24 1749 Court, Ann wife of George Breckinridge, released dower in deed to Matthew Irwin.

18 August 1756, Ann Breckinridge, wife of George, was privately examined. I think Ann signed the 1763 deed in Albermarle Co., but I don't have the record at hand. See Chalkley Lee Bain

[1.] Elaine Doak, Notes on Doak Family. James as father of Ann is based on Elaine Doak, but she says, "The truth is that we have no idea who the father of the group I call the "immigrant generation" was. [1]" I had correspondence with Elaine, many years ago. The current Doak research group make a good case for the parents being a Robert Doak-237 and Margaret. So, I have moved Ann Doak back to Robert's profile.
