Biography

Marie-Victoire Despres was born to Placide and Marie Louise Poirier Despres on 19 Jul 1887 in Cocagne, Kent, New Brunswick, Canada.^[1] She was the third daughter and twelfth child. Her siblings were Richard, Tilmond "Stilmond", Marie-Louise, Urbain-Henri, Ambroise, Francois, Jean-Baptiste, Genevieve, Albon "Abbe", Genevieve Regina, and Sara Fidelis Despres. She was known as Victorine in the family.

Victorine Despres married Albenie E. Bourque Nov 23, 1910 in Cocagne, Kent, New Brunswick, Canada. They were the parents of nine children; Joseph Francois, Marie Rita, Euclide A., Marie Fidelis "Maria", Joseph A., Paul Alphonse, Edmond, Geraldine and Edmond Gerald Bourque.

Victorine was a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, she was fun and loving and was greatly loved in return. Victorine was active in looking after the family business called "Cocagne Buying Club" it was a local Coop store that serviced the local farming community.

Albenie and Victorine were very supportive of each other and their family. Victorine lost her husband Albenie Bourque Feburary 1, 1968 and three sons Edmond 1923-1926, Euclide 1915-1941, and Edmond Gerald 1979-1972.
