Hi Maxine.

I am a descendant of Sarah Lackie or Leckie who married John Berry in Glasgow in 1817. You have her birthdate as 1807 which would mean she was married at 10 years of age! From Scottish birth records you have also indicated an alternative date of 1802 which is possible given the marriage was in Dec of 1817 and the registration would be some time after her birth. She could have been married at 16 or maybe the correct record of her birth is still to be found.

Great job on all the Cottier's. I just hope you manage to find a connection to bring my family in too.

Hi Maxine, I wondered why you added a created a second Mary Roper (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Roper-2255)as a wife for James Cockman? You added no date, place or source for this second marriage to what appears to be a women with the same name as his other wife(https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Roper-2245). Please advise me what the reasoning was here before I suggest a merge or removal.

Hi Judy

I believe I was trying to put the marriage date in and was unaware that I had created a doubleup. Thank you for merging them. Regards Maxine

Hi Maxine, I proposed the merge, but you need to complete it.

Cheers, Judy

Hi Maxine,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
