In 1846 Pearson Davison was in Ryton or Winlaton, His father was also called Pearson Davison, and his mother was Jane Hunter. He is strangely missing from census takings. For example, he would have been 5 at the 1851 census of Coxlodge / Gosforth, Northumberland, Father Pearson (43), coal miner, born Prudhoe, Northumberland, mother Jane (25) born Fawdon, Northumberland have children Thomas 13, born Ryton, Isabella 11, born Ryton, John 8, born Ryton, Susan 6, born Ryton, Margaret 3, born Winlaton, Jane 2 days, born Coxlodge.
With his older brother Thomas Davison (1838-1891) he emigrated to New Zealand.
Pearson and Thomas Davison are listed as passengers aboard the Maori which sailed Gravesend 15 October 1867 and arrived Auckland 5 February 1868[1]
On 19 May 1880 Frances Maria Morgan and Pearson Davison were married in Thames, Coromandel, New Zealand. [2]

In June 1878 a drapery business partnership located at the Cash Palace, Albert St, Grahamstown, Thames between Pearson Davison and Alexander Edwards was dissolved.
From August 1886 until September 1892 Pearson Davison ran a thriving wholesale and retail drapery business located on the junction of Grey and Queen St, in central Auckland.
Then he sold off all of his stock at half price, and it was purchased by J Rendell who then on-sold it from his Rendells store in Queen St.
On 6 August 1894 Pearson Davison passed away, aged only 48. [6]

Pearson is buried with his wife Frances in the Purewa Cemetery, Auckland. [8]
