Biography

My Davis family, that is from Canada, was a lot of brick walls. I have a cousin he always would say your 2nd cousin, one time removed. Well in the 1990s, he did alot of research on his mothers side Laura Davis, the sister to my grandmother Florence Davis Schmitt. He did not use pcs etc. Eugene went around and told the story of the Davis family. His mohter wrote a letter of some of her memories, which showed the wrong grandfather. Well i started to research with the pc and met a wonderful women by the name of Carolyn Anne (Davis) Dyk. She did a lot of research on her family of Eliza Rose and also researched a lot on my 2nd great grandmother Mary Stuart Wray Davis. She is the one who gave me the correct 2nd great grandfather Charles with all the info and records from Canada. Carolyn has researched the Davis family extensively since 1978. She is my ultimate authority for all Davis information. Carolyn is a cousin of mine, and i miss her so much. RIP Carolyln.

Charles Davis was born in the year of 1802 to Lewis and Miriam (Lawrence) Davis. Charles was one (1) of eight (8) children as follows:

Charles occupation he was a shoemaker, had his own shop. One problem that Charles had was he turned out to be an alcholic, he ended up in jail many times. The abuse his wife Mary felt, made her leave with her children, and she left him and moved to Niagara county, New York . On 10 Nov 1880 • Oakville, Halton County, Ontario, Canada, Charles died at the age of 78.
