Anthonina d’Anna is born 15 August 1855 in Corleone, the daughter of Antonio d’Anna and Rosa Gennaro[1], who married in 1850. She is named after her paternal grandmother.
Antonina marries Calogero Grimaldi, son of the late Francesco Grimaldi and Clemenza Palazzo, on 21 February 1881 in Corleone. Her father has died by this time.[2] In the United States, Calogero is known as Carlo L. Gremaldi.[1]
Carlo and Anthonina have four known children: Clemenza (1882), Francesco/Frank (1886), Rosa (1888), and Mary (1898).
Clemenza is born and baptized on 17 December 1882 in Corleone. Her godparents are Giuseppe Milone and Gaetana Serra, a married couple.[3]
On 17 October 1894, the Kronprinz Friedrich Wilhelm, sailing from Palermo via Naples, arrives in Ellis Island, in New York with at least 65 passengers from Corleone. Among them are Antonina, her mother, and her children:

Clemenza marries Calogero "Carlo" Piranio, a Corleone native, in Louisiana when she is 18 years old (around 1900).[5]
Her mother's obituary calls Anthonina "Mrs. C.L. Greenhall" of Dallas.
Anthonina dies on 10 July 1930 in Dallas, Texas, where she has been a resident for 27 years (since 1903). She has been a US resident for 37 years (since 1893). The address where she last lived and died is 3100 South Boulevard. She died from a cerebral hemorrhage which occurred a year before her death. She also suffered arteriosclerosis. Anthonina was 74 years old, born 15 August 1855 in Italy, the daughter of Antonio Danna and Rosa Gennaro, both of Italy. She was a retired housewife. Informant is Mrs. Lena Gremaldi of the same address. Anthonina is buried in Oakland Cemetery on 11 July 1930.[6] [1]
