Biography

According to his Find A Grave profile, Louis Danna was born 28 February 1870 in Italy.^[1] Louis was born Leoluca d'Anna on 15 June 1870 in Corleone, and baptized the same day. He is the son of Francesco d'Anna and Rosa Gennaro d'Anna. His godparents are Francesco Salemi and Maria Pisella, a married couple.^[2]

Louis immigrates in 1888 with his parents, arriving in the port of New York.^[3]

Louis is married to Carman Dragna Danna (1880-1945). They have three children: Antonio Jodie (1898-1964), Josephine (1900-1977), and Louise (1900-1989).^[1]

Louis becomes a butcher. He works in Chicago, Shreveport, New Orleans, and Houston, before arriving in Dallas in 1901.^[3]

In Dallas, Louis works for others as a clerk and butcher before going into business for himself. He owns two grocery stores in Dallas, beginning around 1913: one on Bourbon in South Dallas, and one at Elm and Walton.^[3]

Camela dies on 8 April 1945 at age 64 from apoplexy. Her last address is 5532 Miller, Dallas, TX.^[4]

Louis' last address is at 5151 Richard, in Dallas.^[3]

Louis dies 20 May 1957 in Dallas County, TX at age 87. He is buried in Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Dallas Co., TX.^[1][3]
