Leoluca Cutrera, the son of Salvatore Cutrera, borgese, and Carmela Gennaro, is born on 28 September 1860 in his parents' home on via Sant'Elena in Corleone.[1] He is named after his paternal grandfather.
According to his baptismal record, he is born the next day. Leoluca Cutrera, son of Salvatore Cutrera and Carmela Gennaro, is born and baptized on 29 September 1860 in Corleone. His godparents are Giovanni Gennaro and Giovanna Lisotta, a married couple.[2] His godfather is his maternal uncle.
Leoluca marries at least twice, first to Giuseppa Colletti, daughter of Leonardo Colletti and Giovanna Ciravolo, on 28 October 1884.[3]
Leoluca's father, Salvatore, is a captain in the Fratuzzi, the Mafia in Corleone, by around 1889. In 1893, Salvatore is the head of the Fratuzzi, and he is still in leadership around 1900.[4] He is succeeded by Giuseppe Battaglia.
Leoluca remarries to Maria Comparetto, daughter of Pietro Comparetto and Maria Maretta, from Prizzi, on 19 November 1893.[5]
Leoluca and Maria stand as godparents to Biagia Gennaro on 25 June 1899. Biagia is the daughter of Leoluca's first cousin, Michelangelo Gennaro, and Giuseppa Pomilla.[6]
Leoluca and Maria have at least one child, Pietro (c. 1910), named after his maternal grandfather. Pietro marries Calogera Puccio on 23 November 1930.[7]
