Biography

Leoluca Criscione is a Corleone native resident, the son of Biagio Criscione and Maria Sciortino, who married in 1868. He is named after both his paternal and maternal grandfathers.

His mother has died by 1881, when his father remarries.

His father remarries again on 14 November 1897, to Maddalena Todaro, widow of Pasquale Birtone. The same day, Leoluca marries for the first time, to Maria Birtone, Maddalena's daughter, on 14 November 1897.[1]

Leoluca's brother, Salvatore, marries Maria's sister, their stepsister, Calogera Birtone, on 24 November 1902.[2]

Leoluca remarries to Leoluchina Terrusa, daughter of Angelo Terrusa and Rosa lo Bello, on 13 July 1907.[3]

Leoluca and Leoluchina have at least one child, Maria (c. 1909), named after her paternal grandmother. She also shares her name with her father's first wife, both common names to give a first born daughter.

Maria marries Leoluca Piranio on 15 November 1936.[4]
