Hello Luca!

You've been a member for a while so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Thanks Cindy. I am still at the beginning of working Wiki Tree and I can't invest as much time as I would like to at the moment. I will come back to you once I have more time on my hands!

Thanks for signing the Honor Code, Luca.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there you can leave a comment or send a private message.

Thank you Debi! I'll try to verfiy some of the connections I made in my ancestry tree before I'll upload my GED file again!

Sounds good. I noticed that you disconnected the profiles connected as parents of your great-grandfather but didn't provide any information about why. Did you discover something new that the profile manager had not discovered? When that happens, we recommend adding Research Notes sections to all three profiles explaining the new information. Let me know if you have any questions about how to use the suggested templates in that FAQ.

Debi, that probably was a beginner's mistake! Thanks for pointing it out.

I wanted to delete the connection for my own tree because I have not been able to verify (even though it is very likely so) the connection. As Justin Cascio suggested, I will have to write to the Church in Corleone to find out if the people who's profiles he manages really werethe father of my grandfather. Do you think I should reconnect them?

posted by Luca Criscione
I would reconnect them and add the Research Notes that you need to do more research to prove the connections. There are status buttons under the parents which you can use to show that the connection is uncertain right now.

Hi Luca,

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a confirmed member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.

Ludwig :)

PS If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section of your profile page.
