Biography

Pietro Cortimiglia is a Corleone native resident, the son of Maestro Giuseppe Cortimiglia and Orsola Vasi, who married in 1740. He is named after his paternal grandfather.

Maestro Pietro marries Antonia Patella, daughter of Leonardo Patella and Caterina, on 9 February 1774.[1]

Maestro Pietro and Antonia have at least one child, Antonino (c. 1775). I estimate Antonino is born within a year of their marriage.

Maestro Antonino marries Pietra l’Ala on 19 April 1795.[2] By my estimate, he is no older than twenty when he marries. He is already a maestro at this time. His parents are both still living.

Maestro Pietro dies at the reported age of 85 in March 1834 after receiving last rites. He is predeceased by his late wife, Antonia Patella, and his parents Maestro Giuseppe Cortimiglia and Orsola Vasi.[3]
