Biography

  • Pierre Cormier, son of Jean Cormier and Madeleine Landry, was born at Rivière St-Jean on 16 December 1773. He was baptised at birth by Joseph Roy. His baptism was recorded in the Ristigouche PR on 11 September 1774.

      Pierre Cormier fils legitime de de Jean Cormier et de Magdeleine Landry, né le seize de décembre de l’année mil sept cent soixante et treize, ondoyé par [Joseph Roy], le parain Pierre Cormier, [la maraine] Marie Osité Potier.

Marriage 2

On 13 Apr 1818, in St-Basile de Madawaska, Pierre Cormier widower of Marie Rose Souci married Marie Ursule D'Aigle minor daughter of Joseph D'Aigle and Marie Théotiste Cyr. Witnesses included the bride's father, one signature: the groom's friend Jan Baptiste Levasseur. This was a double wedding, the next entry is also the second marriage of Pierre Cormier's brother, Alexis Cormier, this time to Marie Rose Daigle, sister of Ursule Daigle.[1]

  • Dispensation was obtained for a 3rd to 4th degree of consanguinity. They were second cousins once removed.
