Joseph Newton Copeland was born on 8 November 1925 in Tecumseh, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma, United States.[1]

He was at school in 1932 in Tecumseh, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma.[2]

He married Mary Jo Duggan on 7 November 1947 in Oklahoma, Oklahoma. He was 21 years old.[5] They are the parents of Mary (Copeland) Fallin.

He died on 10 July 1983 and was buried in Tecumseh, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma.[6]
