Biography

Cross of St George
Elizabeth (Cope) Dryden was born in England.

Birth

Elizabeth Cope was the daughter of John Cope (or Coope), Knt., of Canons Ashby, Northamptonshire, and Bridget Raleigh.[1][2][3] Elizabeth's date and place of birth are unknown and are estimated.

Marriage

Elizabeth Cope married John Dryden, Gent.,[2][3] of Canons Ashby, son of David Dryden, Esq. and Isabel Nicholson.[1][4] The date and place of their marriage are unknown. They had eight sons and four daughters:[4]

Death

John Dryden left a will dated 15 August 1584, proved 10 September 1584.[1][5] No credible sources have been found that substantiate Elizabeth's death date. However, it is highly probable that she died before her husband since only children are mentioned in the will of John Dryden. She probably died in Northamptonshire.

Can someone from the Magna Carta Project please add Dryden-1234 and Dryden-157 as children of Elizabeth so merges can be completed? Thank you.

Thanks, Alan. I have attached Dryden-1234, Erasmus Dryden, so the merge of the two Erasmus profiles can be completed. I see Dryden-1234 was detached from this profile yesterday.

I am confused about Dryden-157, which is not for a member of this family. Did you mean Dryden-1537, whom you detached from this profile yesterday? i am assuming so, and am reattaching this profile and have proposed a merge.

Cope-3612 and Cope-51 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. Needs Magna Carta Project approval.
