Thomas Cooney was born in Ireland.

Thomas Cooney is thought to have been born perhaps around 1812 in Ireland^[1]. He married Anne Lynch on February 27, 1835, in Knockbride, Cavan, Ireland^[2][3]. They had at least nine children in 16 years^[4][5][6]. Thomas died in November 1857 (buried on the 19th of that month^[7]) in Knockbride, Cavan, Ireland.
