Biography
Sarah E. Conkin was born circa 1849, in Sullivan county, Tennessee, a daughter of James Conkin and Maryane (aka Mary Ann) Steadman. Sarah is found on the United States census of 1850, living in the 1st Division of Sullivan county, Tennessee with her parents, [1] and on the 1860 census, living in the 15th Civil District of Sullivan county, Tennessee, with her parents and four younger sisters. [2]
