George Louis Coles, son of Benjamin Lippincott Coles and Mary Lizzie Mills, was born on 28 May 1898 in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, United States.[1][2][3]
He was enumerated with his parents and siblings during the 1900 Census in St. Martin Parish.[2]
He completed his education through the tenth grade level.[4]
He married Bessie Hair, daughter of Harry A. Hair and Hattie Brown. They lived in Fannette, Jefferson County, Texas.
He was widowed on 4 May 1927.[5]
By 1935, George was living with his sister Bertha and her husband at 927 Avenue F in Crowley, Acadia Parish. He was enumerated with them during the 1940 census. George was unemployed and seeking oil field work as an oil driller. He indicated no earnings in 1939.[4]
By 1968, George lived at Rural Precinct #4 in Fannett, Texas.
He died at age 70 on 29 November 1968, at The Medical Center of Winnie in Winnie, Chambers County, Texas.[3][6]
He was buried at Old Crowley Cemetery in Crowley, Acadia Parish, Louisiana.[citation needed]
