James B Clagett was born on 4 May 1926 in Smith, Kansas, United States, son of William Thomas Claggett (1874–1948) and Chrissie Daisy Rogers (1896–1988).
James had a sister, Vera Gertrude Claggett (21 April 1903 – 23 March 1997).
James (21) married Bonnie L Austin (18) (born on 23 May 1929 in Phillips County Kansas) on 21 June 1947.
James died on 23 October 2009 in Charlotte, Mecklenburg, North Carolina, United States, aged 83.
