Biography

Adam was born in 1774. He passed away in 1814, executed as part of "the Bloody Assizes of 1814."

Died 20 Jul 1814. Ancaster, Ontario, Canada.

"To His Excellency Governor Drummond Commander in Chief of His Britannic Majesty's forces in Upper Canada The petition of your humble petitioners hereby humbly sheweth that they are confined in York gaol that they were taken from their homes by Militia guards under the command of Colenel Henry Baustwick about the 1st of December last year & brought to this gaol where we have remained in close confinement ever since without being informed for what cause our families which have numerous small children residing in the county of Norfolk Upper Canada. Our families in suffering condition for want of our presence & assistance we humbly pray to have our cases examined into and if any crime or crimes be found against us or any of us we are willing to have a legal trial for the same and if trial cannot be had immediately and any crimes should be found that is bailable we are willing to give sufficient bail & whence no crime has been committed we pray to be released from imprisonment as your excellency must see fit. In Duty Bound we shall ever pray York Gaol Feb 7th 1814.
