Biography

William was born about 1795. He married Ann Cottle in 1816 and was living in Atworthy, Bradworthy with wife and son at the time of the 1841 Census.

Research Notes

Several deaths are recorded in Free BMD of a William Ching between 1861 and 1871 in Bideford, Holsworthy and Torrington districts of Devon; and his wife Ann is shown as a widow in the 1871 UK Census. As ages were not shown in the earlier years of the 1860s, it is not possible to select any entry without burial or monumental inscription confirmation
