François Chauvin was born and baptized on 31 Aug 1716 in Sainte-Famille church of Boucherville, Canada, Nouvelle-France. His parents were Jean Chauvin and Marie Madeleine Courtois. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Louis Pépin, son of Jean Baptiste Pépin and Madeleine Loyseau, and Angélique Martinbau, daughter of the late Jacques Martinbau and Hélène Valiquet. The officiating priest was de la Saudrays.[1]
