Biography

Cyprien Chassé was born on 30 Mar 1808 and was baptized the next day in Saint-André parish in Kamouraska, Bas-Canada. He was the son of Joseph Chasse, farmer from Rivière-du-Loup, and his first wife Judith Ester Dumond. Sponsors at Cyprien's baptism were Alexandre Soucy and Marie Sophie Vielle; neither sponsor signed the register.

At age 21 Cyprien married Geneviéve Desrosiers on 15 Feb 1830 in Saint-Patrice parish in Rivière-du-Loup, Bas-Canada.
