Pierre Marcelle Chassé was born on 7 Nov 1809 and was baptized a week later on 12 Nov in Saint-André parish in Kamouraska, Bas-Canada. He was the son of Joseph Chassé, farmer from Rivière-du-Loup, and Julie Guerêt dite Dumont. Sponsors at Pierre Marcelle's baptism were Joseph Desrosiers and Marguerite McLoughlin; Marguerite McLoughlin signed the register.
At age 31 Pierre married Aurelie Roberge on 14 Jun 1841 in Sainte-Élisabeth parish in Joliette, Bas-Canada. There were seven known children born into this marriage.
Pierre Chassé died at age 76 on 21 Dec 1885 in Sorel, Yamaska, Québec, Canada; he was buried in Saint-Pierre parish cemetery in Sorel. His sons Joseph and Benoni Chassé were present.
