Thomas Cerie was born about 1644 in England. Thomas Cerie emigrated from Oxfordshire, England aboard the Amity which loaded in London 21 February - 15 April 1682, and arrived August 3rd, 1682. [1]
He passed away about 1683 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. [2]
Pre-merge profile had this (unsourced info): He was baptised in Bampton, Oxfordshire, England on 26 May 1649.
A Thomas Searey was baptised at Bampton on 26 May 1649, as the son of Edwa[rd] Searey. [3] "Searey" seems to me an altogether more likely name than "Cerie", at least as a legal last name at birth for someone born in Oxfordshire. Note that Edward or Edmund Seary seems to have had further children baptised at Bampton, including: John (1639), Edmund (1641), and Aaron (1654). Also, there are a number of burials for Thomas Se(a)r(e)y at relevant dates, including in 1672 and 1681. Having said that, the one buried in 1672 had grandchildren (per his will) and a son called Edmund, so might be this Thomas's grandfather. And the 1681 one mentions in his will inter alia his brother Edmund and Edmund's son Thomas, so might be an uncle.
