Biography

CASSE / LACASSE, Antoine

Antoine Cassé was baptized on 26 April 1641 in Doué, Maine-et-Loire, son of Noël Cassé and of Michelle Durand.[1]

Antoine is first mentioned in the country when he emigrated from France in 1663.[1]

Marriage
Antoine Cassé married Françoise Depitié, one of the Filles du Roi and daughter of François Pilois and Claudine Poulet, on 14 October 1665, in Château-Richer, Canada, Nouvelle-France. In the presence of known witnesses Charles François and Romain Trepigny. The celebrant priest was Thomas Morel.[2]

The couple had ten children with 8 to marry.

Death and Burial
Antoine Cassé, passed away being given the age of around 70 years on the record. His burial was on 1 June 1709 in Beaumont. In the presence of known witnesses Joachim Lalleman, Zachaire Turgeon and Guillaume Leroy. The officiating priest was Plante.[3]
