According to the civil record, Francesco Paolo and Maria Ferrara marry on 20 January 1872. The Church record is for the following day. It is the first marriage for either of them. Both their fathers are living at this time. They have at least three children: two sons named Liborio (1874 and 1877) and Lucia (1876), named after his parents, as is traditional. The first son named Liborio, and Lucia, both die in infancy.
