Biography

Girolama lo Cascio is born and baptized on 10 February 1834 in Corleone. She is the daughter of Girolamo lo Cascio and Biagia Guzetta. Her godparents are Leoluca and Bernarda Cascio, brother and sister.

Girolama marries Bernardo Cutrone[1], an agricola/villico (farmer) on 13 October 1850. All four of their parents are living.

Girolama and Bernardo have at least ten children together: Giovanna (1851) two daughters named Biagia (1854 and 1865), Maria Rosa (1856), Carmelo (1858), two sons named Giuseppe (1861 and 1868), Giuseppa (1869), Salvatrice (1863), and Maria (c. 1873).

In each case where a name is repeated, the first born is presumed to have died before the next is born. For a table of Latin baptismal names and their Italian equivalents, and a discussion of naming conventions among the Corleonesi, see the Cascio Family Space.

Giovanna, the second Biagia, and Maria Rosa, survive to marry.
