Biography

William Carver was a part of William Penn's Pennsylvania Settlers community.

William Carver, who had exchanged a By berry farm with Silas Walmsley for land near Bushington, had a son William, being his eldest son, who married a daughter of Henry Walmsley, and removed to Buckingham . . . The father or son is supposed to have built the Green Tree Tavern, at Bushington. [1]

Immigration

William Carver was certainly an early settler, but I don't have the exact date of arrival or ship yet. One source said "Sampson", need to verify. Powell-5629 01:30, 28 January 2015 (EST)

Conflicting Information

In the Abington records, William Carver appears with wife Jane & daughter Sarah; and wife Mary & sons William & Joseph, which matches the information from Martindale[4]

Elias Carver, in the Genealogy of William Carver[5], has Williams wives & children as:

m1. 1689 Joan Kinsey -1737
Sarah Carver b.1690 m. Marshall or Rush
Rachel Carver m. Denkon
William Carver b,1694 m. Elizabeth Walmsley
Rebecca Carver m. Brock
Hester Carver m. Knight
Mary Carver m. Samuel Worthington
m2. (widow) Grace (Paxson) Carter
Hanna Carver

Both family groups claim "William Carver the immigrant from Herefordshire". Both have a son William "who married Elizabeth Walmsley". Both have a daughter Sara, however one's husband is given as Marshall, the other as Rush. See William Carver the immigrant of 1682 for more.

Back in 1/7/01 I received information from Frank Caligiuri [email address removed] through Genealogy.com who stated that Marshall was her first husband and John Rush was her second husband. All the children were with John.
