Olive is the daughter of Zenon Carriere and Marie Stout.
At the age of 15, she married Jean Baptiste LeBleu Jr, the son of Jean Baptiste LeBleu and Marguerite Lejeune, on 19 Apr 1836 in Opelousas, Louisiana.

She married Joseph Latiolais on 11 June 1856 in Opelousas,

but they had been living together for many years before this and had several children together. (The oldest, Marie Josephine, was born in 1849.) An act passed by the state legislature in 1858 acknowledged that Joseph was the childrens' father.

The act also mentioned that she was deceased at the time (18 Mar 1858). Her succession was filed many years later in 1867 in Opelousas.

No. 174, AN ACT To authorize Joseph Latiolais, of the parish of St Landry, to acknowledge his five natural children, named Marie Josephine, Marie Joselia, Joseph ,Marie Victoria ,and Marie Anna, as his legitimate children and heirs .

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened , That Joseph Latiolais, of the parish of St. Landry, be and he is hereby authorized to acknowledge Marie Josephine, Marie Joselia, Joseph, Marie Victoria, and Marie Anna, issue of the said Joseph Latiolais, from his cohabitation and prior to his marriage with Olive Carriere, deceased, as his legitimate children and heirs, by act to be passed before any notary public in and for said parish of St. Landry, and that from and after said acknowledgment the said Marie Josephine, Marie Joselia, Joseph, Marie Victoria, and Marie Anna shall be entitled to receive or acquire by donation or inheritance from their father, the said Joseph Latiolais, in the same manner as if they had been his issue by lawful wedlock; Provided, however, That nothing contained in this act shall effect the legitime of forced heirs as established by the laws now in force.
