Biography

Adelaide was born in 1914 to parents Joseph Carrier and Elizabeth (Bentler)

The 1920 US census record for the Carrier family (with many spelling or transcription errors) shows 5 year old Adelaide in a full house, living near the tiny town of Randall, in central Minnesota.^[1]

The 1930 US census shows 15 year old Adelaide, one of just 2 children left at home. Her father Joe worked at the paper mill.^[2]

Adelaide married Arthur Lynch on May 26th, 1934.^[3]

Son Jack was born in 1934.

Adelaide and Art's daughter Elizabeth Rosalie (Betty) was born in 1935.^[4]

Son William was born in about 1938.

The 1940 US census shows Adelaide and Art with 3 children living in International Falls, Minnesota.^[5]

Adelaide and Art are believed to have divorced on about December 15th, 1944.

Adelaide (Carrier) Lynch married her 2nd husband, Robert Gunther on September 3rd, 1945.^[6]

Adelaide died at La Verendrye hospital in Fort Frances, Canada on May 25th 1946, at the age of 32. The cause of death was listed as "Peritonitis - Ileus Ectopic - combined pregnancy". She was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls, Koochiching County, Minnesota.^[7]
